Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (The Prophet’s Mosque) – Madinah, Saudi Arabia

Located in the radiant city of Madinah, Al-Masjid an-Nabawi is the second holiest site in Islam. Built by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself, this mosque is not only a sacred place of prayer but also a symbol of the Prophet's leadership and compassion.

Historical Significance:
The mosque was originally a simple structure built after the Prophet’s migration (Hijrah) from Makkah. Over the centuries, it has been expanded and beautifully adorned by various Islamic rulers.

Key Features:

  • The Rawdah: Referred to by the Prophet ﷺ as "a garden from the gardens of Paradise," this area lies between his pulpit and tomb.

  • Green Dome: This marks the location of the Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ burial chamber, along with Abu Bakr and Umar (RA).

  • Minarets & Courtyards: Open-air spaces, umbrellas, and marble floors make the atmosphere peaceful and inviting.

Travel Tip:
Arrive early for each prayer, especially to visit the Rawdah area, as it’s highly sought after. Always show the utmost respect and patience—this is a deeply spiritual place.
